Finished . . . sort of

The manuscript is never finished until it's gone to press, right?

Right.

So I finished my FIRST DRAFT today of my work in progress (WIP). It's 90,000 words (which means nada to non-writers). Another 5,000 words will probably be added as I go through and start the editing process. Plus I have some research details to finalize and sometimes that brings in more threads to the story . . . thus more writing.

I'm not entirely pleased with the end of the book, but that's what my trusty readers are for (wink wink).

Anyway, just for fun information, right now I'm reading Michele Paige Holmes new manuscript, Canopy of Stars. She gave me the first 300 pages . . . and it leaves off with a cliff-hanger. Michele--um, can you give me the rest right away? I don't have to cook a turkey this year, so I'll have plenty of reading time this weekend while my hubby watches football :)

And I started Annette Lyon's new temple book on Manti. 50 pages into that. Fortunately I have the whole manuscript in hand and won't have to beg for more.

It looks like we'll all be submitting to our publishers around the same time . . . making Summer/Fall 2008 an exciting year for reading :)

Congratulations, Heather! How is it that you guys who start later than I do always manage to finish first?
I'll hand over the last 150 pages when you give me your whole Queen ms. I've been waiting for months . . .
Oh, and throw Abinidi in with that deal too :)

Thanks, Ladies.

No, Josi, you aren't chopped liver . . . I think most of us are afraid of you. If you want to hear how cute your "baby" is, don't go to Josi. LOL.

Touche, Michele. Looks like I need to restock my printer cartridges.

Sounds like I'll have to make a trip south of the border next year to stock up on the newly released wonderfulness. Congrats!
