10 Week Book Giveaway--Week #6

10 Week Countdown to the release of my new book: Alma

We are half way there. For details about this contest visit here. But basically, all you have to do is answer this week's question in the comments and on Friday, I'll choose one of the names and announce the winner.
Before we hit the question, just for fun, I posted the book trailer for ABINADI on YouTube. Or you can watch it below. Let me know what you think. Next I'll work on one for ALMA:

So, here is a picture from my 20-year High School reunion. Top: Melanie & Me, Bottom: Jean and Jill. It was a blast and really time warpy to see everyone.

This Week's Question:
What's a favorite memory from High School (that won't get you in trouble for sharing).
One of my favorite memories is leaving school during the lunch hour and going to KFC for those mini-chicken sandwiches, or getting a shake at a hamburger joint. I don't think we ever ate in the cafeteria. I usually brought something from home, but it was gone after first period. My mom's lovely gray oatmeal was so unappetizing, that I was hungry again by 10 a.m.

That makes me realize my twenty year reunion is coming up in just a couple years. I must have been a sophmore when you were a senior.

Memories? Probably Drama is the best one that was a lot of fun, that and egging on Halloween.

Oh I and since I re-read ABINADI over the weekend, I'll do a review in anticpation of ALMA, in a couple days.

My 20 year reunion was last year but I did not attend. I loved going to the football games with my close friend. I also loved being on the yearbook staff and seminary council.

David, you are so young :)

Yeah, I liked Drama too, except I was mostly on the costume committee. One year I won "state" for pantomime. Funny.

Thanks for doing a review for Abinadi.

Becky, I wasn't really on any council stuff. I should have been on the yearbook staff--maybe I would started writing earlier :)

not sure i can remember that far back, but one that does stand out is my social studies teacher getting frustrated banging his head against the blackboard and cracking the board

Student council meetings. Yes I loved student council and serving on the council, but I loved the student council president more ;) Fun times.

I was a cheerleader so a lot of my fond memories are of being at the games and going for pizza with friends afterward. They were such innocent, good times.

Oh I loved those KFC sandwiches, I can't figure out why they ever stopped making them. My internet is too slow to watch the video so I'll catch it tomorrow, I'm sure it's awesome though.

My favorite memory was my senior year. I was working and would leave school after my last class there and then travel to another location for more classes and go to work from there. I got to go home and eat lunch everyday between schools.
Thanks!

My favourite memory is when we had a substitute for gym class and a bunch of us gals hung back in the girls locker room so he wouldn't know we were there. Much giggling and NO sweating.

Love the book trailer!

Your trailer gave me goosebumps!

As for the question I would have to say that my senior year was my fondest memory because of a beautiful Swedish exchange student I met. She was a year younger than me but we instantly became friends. We were inseparable.

Our sneakiest moments were cutting gym to go uptown and buy candy. Also during track we would run right past her house so we would stop, listen to music, and pig out while everyone else trudged up the hill. We'd just watch for them to come back and then join the line pretending to huff and puff back to school! :)

Good looking trailer. My favorite memory from High School was Senior Year High School. The building of our float, the fun feuds with the Juniors, having to drive 20 miles away before we found a store that would sell us eggs. Good times.

I enjoyed the trailer, Heather, but I think it's cheating to post a picture of you and your classmates from your high school days, ha ha. You all look so young. Must be good living.

It will be 35 years for me in 2010. My graduating class was 33 students and I don't have many enjoyable memories. Sorry. I did like the last day.

Heather, can you email me when you get a minute? I'm not sure my replies are going to your inbox. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for sharing your memories :) Brings back more of my own.

I guess at my 30 year reunion I'll likely be a grandma--weird!

My 10 year reunion is next year, but we try to get together each summer and have a BBQ. We did it last weekend, and it was a blast! It's the same in a way, but different since kids outnumber us now!
I loved singing in Madrigals. That was way fun, and being in school plays.:) I never ate school lunch either. We always went to Wendy's!

My favorite memory from high school was the day I finally graduated and was able to throw all my notebooks away!
